New Wheels For the Drift Trike

Today I worked for a bit in the garage on some new wheels for the drift trike.
My boss hooked me up with a set of go-kart wheels we had in the back.
I got some 8" PVC pipe from a local pipe supply shop.

I was able to squeeze the wheels and tires into the PVC pipe and air up the tire to keep it snug.
Now we just have to wait for the roads to clear and the fun will begin again!

  1. Alright, let me get this straight, so you drift on PVC wheels with a CRAZY low coefficient of friction at HIGH speeds down an asphalt road????

    Sounds a little dangerous!
    Any brakes?
How do you control direction, safety gear? expected maximum speeds??

  3. P.S. I like your slogan under your Blog title. No Chaun, you don't like words so much, but you're hilarious when you make fun of Sean.

  4. awe tyson, don't be Scurred!
I estimate the μ to be about .25, which is about the same as my truck drifting on Icy roads(which i do).
Yes, we got brakes, currently just a crappy BMX brake, but my coworker welded up some disc brake mounts on his fork and is installing a disc brake, I'm gonna do the same.
Top speed on our last runs with trek mod wheels was about 35 on straights and 25 in the corners, should be close the the same with the PVC wheels.
To answer your other question. you control direction with Style, Pazazz, and shear nerves and reflexes!!!! heck yes!

Just watch this video, you dont have to go heck-a-fast to get these bad boys sideways.

  6. Hello, I put kart wheels with 250mm, but the thickness is very thin and break easily, you know where I could get a PVC pipe for this size? With this thick-walled?
What are the specifications of your in millimeters?

    Grateful.

Thanks if you can also reply on my facebook.
